Full Review of Aroma Pizza in Chino Valley

There’s good and bad about Aroma Pizza in Chino Valley, but I still believe it’s a much better option than the chain pizzerias like Pizza Hut or Dominos. It’s difficult for me to summarize my feelings about Aroma, but I’ll do my best throughout this review.

I’ve gone to Aroma twice – once dining in and once ordering takeout. I think this gave me a well-rounded view of the entire experience with them.

Food Quality

This is the best part about Aroma Pizza. Although food quality doesn’t always trump the other categories, I think this is a great example of the exception.

Both times I got their food, I got a large pizza and buffalo wings.

Pizza

The pizza was tasty both times. Some pizzerias have really good crust, others have really good sauce. But at Aroma, their shining star is the cheese. It’s delicious – both fresh from the oven and reheated as leftovers!

The crust was actually a bit of a disappointment. The first visit, it was a little undercooked – not “raw”, but definitely lacked any brown – and you could tell in the flavor. There’s not much seasoning in their crust, making it pretty bland. However, the second order was much better due to it being cooked slightly longer. The browning at the edges added a little bit of flavor that was missing the first time around.

The sauce is lightly applied (personally, I prefer it). But it’s good – not a standout feature, but not a detractor either.

Buffalo Wings

The buffalo wings were another interesting experience. I ordered the “hot” variant, but it wasn’t very spicy at all. I would probably describe it as “mild” or “medium” in terms of spiciness.

Spice aside, they were actually very tasty. I enjoyed the amount of sauce and they were cooked well. What I liked most is that I received exactly what I expected both times.

Service

This is a casual pizzeria, which sets a certain expectation when it comes to service. I don’t expect wait staff trained by professional ballet dancers – just polite and efficient service. That’s exactly what I got during both my visits to Aroma Pizza.

When ordering takeout, we were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. I arrived a little bit early to pickup my order, but almost exactly 20 minutes from ordering, the gentleman at the front had my order ready. Very well done!

When dining in, we were promptly greeted and invited to pick a seat. Our server was with us very quickly, got our drinks delivered, and had our pizza order put in.

This is a pro for service, but unfortunately a con for atmosphere. Our waiter noticed right away that our table hadn’t been wiped down and cleaned it for us. He then immediately cleaned the other couple of tables that were dirty. I liked his attitude, but wish the tables had already been cleaned.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere is probably the worst part about Aroma Pizza. As I mentioned above, cleanliness needs to be improved. Along with that, the dining area is pretty rundown. All of the seats are very beat up and need some love.

The dining area itself is large, but feels too large since most patrons seem to order takeout anyway. I think a smaller dining room that was well taken care of would be more inviting.

I don’t recommend dining in. Instead, just order takeout and enjoy your meal from the comfort of your home. They also don’t offer delivery – but I hope they consider adding it as an option in the future.

Price

The prices are average – maybe a little on the low side. For the quality of food you get, I think they’re priced right! I wouldn’t even mind paying a little more.

You can take a look at the pictures of their menu below. Judge for yourself.

Overall Value

I recommend giving Aroma Pizza in Chino Valley a try! Even though I’d recommend against dining in, I think you’ll have a great experience with takeout. Family pizza night? Get Aroma Pizza!

Although there isn’t anything “amazing” about their food – the best part is getting exactly what you expect, every time. I have no doubts that your experience will be consistent from visit to visit. In this case, that’s more important to me than the disappointing atmosphere.

Happy to see Aroma is on your radar. They are the only pizza place we go to but don’t just get the pizza.
They have the booths recovered every couple years. Personally I think they need to use heavy material instead of cheap vinyl. And I agree the pizza’s way better then dominos or pizza hut. The tables may not always be as clean as they should be but some days they get slammed with big groups of folks all in at once and since staff is at a minimum I’m sure it’s not their first priority. But I also agree it could be better.
Generally I think they do a pretty good job over all and the food is always delicious. You need to try the lasagna it’s it so good I don’t bother even trying to make it anymore. We have been going there for years and can’t say we’ve ever really had a bad meal.
